To be considered for a lifeguard position you must be at least 16 years old and certified with the following: CPR, AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard training. WSI certification is not required, but is recommended. Lifeguard certification and re-certification courses are available locally at Drew University as well as thru the Red Cross.
To be considered for an instructor position you must be at least 16 years old and meet the same requirements as a lifeguard and be WSI certified.
UNDER 18 YEARS OLD?
If you are under the age of 18, you are required by NJ law to have an Employment Certificate (working papers). Employment Certificate Forms may be requested in the Main Office of the Madison High School. Please note, the MCP requires that a physician certify fitness and that you provide a copy of a valid birth certificate.
